Maxson, William “Whiskey Bill”
William “Bill” D. Maxson,84 of Toledo, OH, died Friday, September 2, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Born March 3, 1932, in Lima, OH, he was the son of Duane and Mary Jane (Baughman) Maxson. Bill was the widower of Mary Grill, and was currently married to Anna L. Cichy. He was an Iron Worker for Local 55 for 43 years, retiring in 1994 and received his 65 year pin from the Local this year. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, music and woodworking. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Toledo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Anna; children, Theresa (Pat) Allen, Mary Ellen (Paul Boczek, Cathy (Mark) Lehmann, Linda (Kevin) Knepley and William (Susan) Maxson; Step-son, Milton Nash; 13 grandchildren 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and 1 great grandchild and 1 great great grandchild on the way. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Barbara Boggs and Georgia Arnold and step-daughter, Annette Goetz.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where the Rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 11:00 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI, where he will lie in state after 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
